In recent years, the idea of people identifying themselves as queer and non-binary have become accepted and even celebrated for those who have ‘come out’ or have managed to identify themselves as per their wish and thought process. This is the LGBTQ+ community. The community is represented by the colours of the rainbow. There are a variety of sub-communities such as the transgender community, the bisexual community, they gay and lesbian communities, binary and non-binary communities as examples. These communities have their own variations of the pride flag.
In order to celebrate the uniqueness in gender identification, fluidity and personal sexual orientation, the celebration of pride month takes place across the world. Pride month celebration however does not happen on a fixed day across the globe as per other global festivities. Pride month is celebrated in accordance to the date of the country on which LGBTQ+ was decriminalised and accepted as a part of the country’s legal system.
