while Kolkatas unofficial position as the country's arts and cultural capital is widely accepted, the city's street art culture hasn't necessarily made a name for itself .mostly unstructured and still budding, Kolkatas street art scene is nonetheless every bit worth exploring.Much like other indian cities the walls of Kolkata has always been rich with graffiti displaying political and religious doodle including walls for votes and criticizing the opponent party these works are not even considered as art.

A place of Jamini Roy,Mukul Dey,Rabindranath Tagore their work is only limited to few metro stations and grand museums.while the classic era has reached the fag end, these new artists Snik(reevu),Shrek(justin)and Shock who work under pseudonyms are piloting and preservingthe culture of wall art of Kolkata.
