Classic Graphic Designers and their iconic works. -by Dipshikh Dey

 

In the modern world, where almost everything is online, graphic designing plays a huge role in our day to day life. Artist from all around the world have been bringing something new to the table on a daily basis. The field of graphic design has never looked better! As the world of graphic designing is moving at a fast pace let’s take a look at some of the most iconic graphic designers and their work.

1.      OTL AICHER- Regarded as one of the most famous German graphic designers of all time, Otl Aicher designed the Lufthansa logo. He is best known for having designed pictograms for the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich that proved influential on the use of stick figures for public signage, as well as designing the typeface Rotis.

2.      ALAN FLETCHER- His expressive typography, bold colours and strong visual language helped pave the way for graphic design to be thought of as a key and crucial element to businesses, not just an optional decorative extra.

                                                    

3.    CHIPP KIDD- He is a new York based graphic designer best known for his stunning book jackets. He has worked with well know authors like Haruki Murakami for 1Q84, Robert Hughes for The Shock Of The New, etc. one his most iconic work till date remains to be the book cover for Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton.

4.      SAUL BASS- Bass made his mark on the design world with his work in the 1950s designing iconic movie posters and motion picture title sequences for films such as Psycho, The Man with the Golden Arm, and North by Northwest.

5.      NEVILLE BRODY- Neville Brody is an eminent name among the twentieth century English graphic designers. His versatility extends to art direction and typography as well. His well-known works include his contribution to The Face and Arena magazines. He has also designed album covers. One of his most iconic album cover is the cover for God Save The Queen by Sex Pistols.
