Patishapta are made with refined flour, rice flour, and suji stuffed with a delicious coconut and jaggery filling. Patishpata is mostly prepared on the occasion of Makar or Poush Sankranti along with other Sankranti dishes like Pule, Pithe, Narkel Naru, and Moa.

Dudh Puli is also known as rice flour dumplings. It's a famous Bengali milk-based Payesh/ Kheer/ Pudding prepared by slow-cooking milk with Puli stuffed with cooked coconut. Dudh Puli was always and till date prepared with Notun Gur/ Patali Gur.
Another Bengali sweet, Gokul Pithe is a traditional dish that is also popularly made at the time of Makar Sankranti or Poush Parbon in Bengali homes. These are like sweet fried dumplings, soaked in thick hot sugar syrup. The filling is grated coconut and jaggery. Bhapa pitha is a type of rice cake that is very popular in West Bengal. Bhapa pitha is considered to be a traditional winter dish made during Makar Sankranti. It is a steamed rice cake made out of freshly ground rice flour. The filling is composed of coconut and date molasses. Molasses can be substituted with brown sugar or jaggery.

Chondro puli is a pastry shell stuffed with a jaggery and coconut concoction and then deep-fried. It could be made in another way where the shell is soft and steamed like a dumpling. The name refers to the "pitha" as being moon-shaped.
