India name is closely associated with art. Different part of India are known for different arts. One such image is the Pattachitra. The name Pattachitra has evolved from the Sanskrit words patta which mean Canvas and Chitra means picture. If you want to know who invented Pattachitra then there is nothing like that. The Chitra started with religious painting of Lord Jagannath and other mythological stories. With the change in the market conditions artist started making motifs like flowers plants geometrical shapes and animals also. The painting is mostly done on Canvas and this painting is mostly drawn with reach colours.

Artist creativity give the Canvas A new look. Creative motifs , designs and portrayal of simple themes, mostly mythological in in depiction. When are the paint or Chitra the artist follow some traditional way on their Canvas. A gauze like fine cotton cloth is coated with White stone powder and gum made out of tamarind seeds. This makes the Canvas ready to accept the paint, it made of natural colours. 

 These colours are and unique feature of Pattachitra. 
This is unique art is still everyone's favourite.
